He also served as president of the Bell County Ministerial Alliance of Killeen/Copperas Cove, Texas, a board member of the Evangelical Board, Home Mission Board and the Foreign Mission Board of the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas. He served as the past chairman of the Evangelical Board of the Good Hope Western District Association of Waco, Texas. He taught at Ellison High School, American Preparatory Institute, and the Seminary Extension Department –Seminary External Education Division – Fort Worth Theological Seminar – Forth Worth, Texas.
He is the founder/organizer of the Dr. Martin King Memorial March and Worship Services of the Copperas Cove, Texas Community. The first commemoration service was held on January 19, 1999. He completed, published and authored the Church Administration Handbook and Church Guide.
Pastor McMullen is a graduate of Eupora High School; Eupora, Mississippi – Ministerial Institute and College; West Point, Mississippi and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Rehabilitation Services at American Technological College in Killeen, Texas; Master of Divinity from the Forth Worth Theological Seminar in Fort Worth, Texas and a candidate for the Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Theology/Divinity from Forth Worth Theological Seminar in Fort Worth, Texas. He has received numerous citations and awards from a multiplicity of groups and organizations throughout the United States and abroad.
Pastor McMullen: a gifted teacher/preacher/pastor who believed that the Holy Spirit works through the preacher as he expounded upon the word of God making it relevant to the people of God. Pastor McMullen: a very compassionate God-Man for fellow man; sharing the Word despite personal pain and uncomplaining suffering knowing in the depths of his soul God would always replenish what he needed.
Pastor McMullen served as the faithful under Shepherd of Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church for its first 37 years. A beautiful Homegoing Service occurred on October 13, 2017. It was well-attended by the members of the McMullen and Polk family, Bible Way Family and Friends and community leaders. With Pastor McMullen’s endorsement, Bible Way plans to continue its next years under the leadership of Pastor W.G. “Will” Jackson and “Disciple the Church to Impact the World”.
