OUR PASTOR

Rev Will Jackson II

I seek humbly to be a church leader, a biblical scholar, a family man, a civic leader and a local businessman. I am blessed to be the husband of the former Rebecca Azard and the father of William Marc and Hannah Kay.  – Pastor Jackson

He Answered His Calling

I was born to Frances K. Jones and the late Willie G. Jackson, Sr. in a time far, far, away in Kansas but got to Copperas, Cove as quickly as I could. I was blessed of the Lord to be raised by a spiritual and dedicated mother who reared me in the church from an early age. I came to accept Christ at the age of eleven under the auspices and drawing of the Holy Spirit while living in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Being an army brat, the military sent my father to Fort Hood, Texas and I was blessed to become part of the Youth Church at Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church. While serving as a Junior Deacon of the Youth Church, I accepted my call to the ministry at age twelve and preached my trial sermon at the age of thirteen. Blessed to lead the Youth Church and other district youth activities, this helped to aid my spiritual as well as my physical maturity. I have been a licensed minister for more than thirty years and formally ordained for over twelve years.

Early Life

Being blessed also in high school to be a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Youth for Christ, I was able to minister in my public school. Upon high school graduation, I was blessed to attend Baylor University and study business, all the while being able to travel to my home church and participate in preaching and teaching God’s Word.

Through worship ministry and a commitment to servant leadership, I strive to proclaim the Good News of God’s love, to help others encounter the Lord, to lead them in praise and worship of Him, and to nurture their spiritual development and ministry involvement.

Education

I also believe in the value of education which was fostered in me while a student in the Copperas Cove Independent School District. It was there I graduated with honors and was the Captain of the Debate Team, Varsity Basketball Letterman, Mr. CCHS, and School Treasurer. I graduated from Baylor University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance and Business Broadcasting; after initially being a part of the AFROTC program. I am also an Air Force Veteran who received an honorable discharge. In 2014, I obtained my MA in Christian Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary with honors. The year 2018 will mark another scholastic milestone as I will receive my Doctorate in Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary.
